We are operating the special event stations K5A, K5R and K5S from Saturday, September 28th through Sunday, October 6th, 2024 to promote innovative, free and open amateur radio software.
During the event we honor the 2024 award recipients Jakob Ketterl (DD5JFK) for OpenWebRX and Marat Fayzullin (KC1TXE) for OpenWebRX+.
As part of the special event we encourage people to submit nominations for the 2025 Amateur Radio Software Award.

The operating schedule should be taken as a guide where to find the special event station. Based on band condition and other unforseen events operations may change. Most likely some operations will occur in addition to the posted times. Thanks for your understanding. Feel free to spot us. We try to spot ourselves when operating SSB. So you can use your favorite dx cluster software or website to find us. For digital modes pskreporter.info and the like should have us listed. With HamAlert you can setup notifications for our call sign and know when and where we operate. |
To receive the special event QSL card for your contact(s) please send your QSL card and SASE to the station you contacted.
If you want to save postage, a single SASE for all stree stations is OK. Please still include a separate card for each station (K5A/K5R/K5S) you made contact. Multiple modes/band for the same station do not need a different card. Send the cards and SASE to one of the three addresses you worked. Please note that this will delay the mailing of our QSL card to you.
